Hi all, this is my first blog in which I will be writing in both Welsh and English for the foreseeable future. My name is Jac Evans and I am an Assistant Site Manager at The Mill. This blog will hopefully be able to give you an insight into how I got involved with The Mill and how the site is progressing.
Incredible to think another couple of months have passed since my last blog and we’re already in the month of May after enjoying the bank holiday - for the teams involved in the project these periods of time off are well earned given their efforts!
It’s been a couple of months since my last blog, a period in which we’ve been extremely busy resolving the usual technical and logistic aspects associated with every new development. In that time we have welcomed 2 new members to the Mill team.
The works on site has progressed really well over the past month with an average of 50 operatives on site daily and no doubt helped by a very dry month. If you travel past the development you can’t help but notice the elevated section of the viaduct being constructed. This will eventually help form the access to the development from the Cowbridge Road West area for buses, refuse collection and emergency services.
This is my first blog relating to our project at The Mill, Canton, Cardiff and it would only be prudent to tell you a little about the project to put the rest of my update in context. With our partners Tirion and Cadwyn we will be building 800 new homes, ranging from 1 bedroom apartments through to 4 bedroom detached properties over the next 6 -7 years on the site of the former Arjo Wiggins Paper Mill.
